What is Nu-Liver PC?

Nu-Liver PC is a natural product based upon the success of long term clinical trials performed in Russia using soy bean phosphatidylcholine and glycyrrhizin from licorice roots. This selected combination, currently being used in Russia for the treatment of acute and chronic viral hepatitis C and hepatitis B, is NOW available in America. Nu-Liver PC contains the following ingredients: 70% water soluble crystalline phosphatidylcholine, Chinese licorice root, and glycine.

How do I take Nu-Liver PC?

Nu-Liver PC comes in capsule form and is designed to be taken orally with food. There are 90 capsules in every bottle, and the suggested dosage is: 1 capsule three times a day with meals.

What is the ‘PC’ in Nu-Liver PC, and what does it do?

The ‘PC’ in Nu-Liver PC is known as ‘phosphatidylcholine, a natural lipid derived mainly from soybeans. As a component of lecithin (an approved emulsifier), PC is found in many of the foods we eat every day. PC is internationally accepted as a safe substance in all countries around the world. Numerous scientific studies have demonstrated the ability of PC to support and protect the liver cell membrane against attack from viruses, especially the hepatitis virus. What is the difference between PC and lecithin?

PC is a specific phospholipid nutrient, whereas lecithin is a compound mixture of PC, other phospholipids, and other substances. What does the licorice in Nu-Liver PC do?

Licorice root is the most widely used herb in Chinese medicine. It has been scientifically shown to protect the liver and promote healing of this vital organ. Its anti-inflammatory properties have clinically been used to fight liver inflammation and battle the hepatitis virus. In multi-center double-blind studies, licorice root extract has demonstrated its ability to reduce ALT liver enzymes in patients with chronic hepatitis C.

I have high blood pressure. Can I still take your product?

Some people may not be able to take Nu-Liver PC because it contains licorice root. Licorice is generally a very safe herb when consumed in small amounts ( i.e. as found in the ‘original’ Nu-Liver formulation). However, some people are sensitive to ‘glycyrrhizin’, the major extract in licorice root. In these individuals, this extract may potentially increase the sodium content of blood, thereby gradually increasing blood pressure. This can also cause a loss of potassium that can react with certain high blood pressure medication that they may be taking. For those individuals with hypertension, it is recommended that they consult a healthcare practitioner before using this product.

Why do you add glycine to your formula?

Due to the potential for licorice to raise blood pressure in sensitive individuals, glycine has been added to the Nu-Liver PC formulation. Based on the original Russian trials, scientific data compiled from clinical experiments using glycine clearly show that glycine can inhibit and prevent the rise in blood pressure that may be caused by the glycyrrhizin extract in licorice root.

I am already using Original Nu-Liver. Can I take Nu-Liver PC also?
